Hi Sarah!

How are you? I hope you’re well. I’m very pleased to know that I’ve been invited by your family for spend next summer with you in Sydney.

I’ve been thinking about some activities that we could do with your family and so have an enriching experience all together, but I don't really know much about Australia, so you will have to guide me. I would like to Visit Kangaroo Island, I have heard that the island is just off the coast of Adelaide and is the perfect place to see real life roos as they hop about their natural habitat. Moreover , I want to  go surfing on Bondi Beach because is one of the world's most famous beaches and stretches over 1 km long. Apart from that, I would like to travel on Melbourne's trams because this is the best way to get good scope of the city in just a few minutes.

I hope that the plans that I have thought seem good to you. I can't wait for summer! I am very excited and look forward to seeing you.

Best regards to your family, see you soon!

Inés.

Hi Sarah!

How you've been you and your family? It's been a week since I've learned that I'll come to Melbourne with you!

I just wanted to tell how awesome it's sounds like. I can't expect what I'm gonna found there.

The day can be like the typical computer's background picture with the contrast of views, the orange desert that never ends with some trees and the empty blue sky or may it be more like "The last surviver" from Discovery Max or any scary movie?! With the giants spiders, the giants bats... well the giants and dangerous creatures that live there.

I'm sure we're gonna have so much fun. Can't wait to come and see you!!

And don't forget to say hi for me and thank your family for hosting me.

Well, see you soon!

Mike

Hi Sarah!

How have you been lately? Sorry I haven’t been in touch for such a long time, but I’ve been so busy!

I’m very pleased to know that I’ve been invited by your family for spend next summer with you.  Do you remember when we say that we will see each other again? I’m very excited to be in Australia one more time. The last time was amazing! It was eight… or seven years ago… I don’t remember well...

First, I want to improve my English skills and obviously my pronunciation because when I return to Barcelona I would like to pass the Advanced exam (that difficult exam all not English speakers have to have for show that we have a good English level).

Secondly, I will make tourism. Sydney is one of the most beautiful cities all over the world; you can show me your city. I will bring my new camera that makes incredible pictures!

Finally, I want to learn all you culture and traditions, this will be funny.

Lots of love to you and your family.
See you soon! Love from,
Mar

Hi Sarah,

I’m so happy to hear that you will be my host family! It’s been so long since we last chatted and I’m so thrilled to visit you and your family!

Let me start by telling you that I really want to learn about the fauna in Australia. I’ve heard that you have some pretty interesting and bizarre creatures there and I’m into that!

Also, doing my research of your country, I found out that you have some ancient culture; I read something about some aboriginal tribes. I wouldn't mind to learn more about it, in fact it could be a great opportunity to learn new things from different cultures and that’s always nice.

Lastly, as you might know, this should be an educational trip so I guess I’ll have to get familiar with new language skills. I was thinking of learning some Australian slang, what do you think?

Anyway, I have to go now, however I’ll be waiting for your response!

See you,

Tammy Abraham

Hi there Sarah,
How are you? I hope you’re doing great.  I’m very grateful for your invitation to visit your country. I’m very excited to go there and to take the flight, as I’ve never been on an airplane; I haven’t been on Australia neither.
I expect to learn and discover new things in Australia such as the wild animals in there, the culture and of course Sidney. I also hope to practice and learn English. I like the idea of the big city, museums, gastronomy, the culture and the famous opera house... But I think that the most exciting thing to me about Australia is the wildlife, I’d love to see kangaroos, koalas, platypus and obviously the great coral barrier. I expect to learn things about these animals and about their habitats, as well, like the rain forests. I’d also like to learn how to surf, I’ve never done it before but I expect to learn quickly. I’ve heard that in Bondi Beach there are good waves and there’s a nice landscape.
I hope we have a great time together and that we can learn things about eachother. I can’t wait to see you and your country.
See you soon,
Alex

Hi Sarah!

How are you? I am very excited for being in Sydney next month, because we haven't seen each other for a long time.

First of all, I would like to thank you and your family for hosting me in your home for a month. I have always liked traveling, and this is a very good opportunity to get to know the world, new cultures and people. Once there, I would like to explore the city and its surroundings with you.

Furthermore, I would like to improve my level of English because I would like to get the advance title when I return to Barcelona.

Also, I really want to see you and be able to show you all the photos I have taken since I signed up for the photography course, you are going to freak out

I can’t wait to see you!

Hi Sarah!
How are you? I hope you are fine. First of all I want to thank you and your family for giving me the chance of having this opportunity.

I'm looking forward to have so many adventures in Australia, I've never have been there and it's a new country for me. I'm very excited about the animals, especially kangaroos and koalas.
Also I would like to go surfing despite I'm a bit afraid of. Do you normally go surfing with your family?

Furthermore, I expect to practice and improve my english. At the same time I want to discover your culture and society, that it's pretty unknown for us.

Finally, as I'm a girl with interests in history, I would like to also discover the Australian history, because we don't learn it in our countries, and i'm very curious about it.

See you soon,
Raquel.

Hi Sarah,
How have you been lately? Sorry I haven’t been in touch for such a long time, but I’ve been so busy!
I’m pleased to hear that I’ve been invited by your family to stay with you all in Sydney. I’m so excited about visiting you next summer!
Firstly, I know there are some places which I can’t miss! For example, going by kayak under the Coathanger while we’re watching the sunset or go hiking in the Royal National Park to see the natural rock pools and rock formations.
I expect to learn a lot of things about nature and -of course- photography. Remember my old camera? After this adventure trip I’ll create an album of all the pictures and notes I’ve been doing during my stay in Australia.
So, what’s up with you? Hope everyone’s doing well in your family and I can’t wait to see you!
Must run. I need to finish my homework! See you soon!

Hi Deborah,

How did your exams go? I’m sure you did brilliantly as always!
Sorry I haven’t written for so long, but I’ve had a lot of exams!

So, I heard that you were wondering if joining Facebook will be a good idea. To convince you, I’ll explain some advantages of this digital tool that you definitely should use.

I know you’re reluctant of the fear of losing intimacy or afraid of spending too much time on it, but I guarantee you that you’re not going to be addicted to this type of apps. Remember that Internet is either good or bad depending on how we use it for our personal goals.

The best way to keep in touch with friends and have some fun is by using this tool and I’m sure that you’ll become a fan of typing people you get on well.

Anyway, I must go and get on with my work! See you soon!

Take care,

Júlia

Hi there, Sarah!

How are you? Is everything going well? I hope it is. First of all, I would like to thank you and your family for allowing me to stay at your house in Sidney. It's the first time I'm doing such a thing and I'm really nervous. I've been to nine countries already, but this is my first time in Australia!

I know I'll be staying for more than two months, but in my opinion, it isn't a lot of time. There are a lot of things I would like to do, but I know that it is impossible. Above all, there's one thing that I would like to do for sure: I want to improve my English as much as possible. I don't care about the accent, because I mix both American and British accents, so I don't mind adding the Aussie! As you can see, my English isn't the best, but I'll try to meet your expectations.

Since this doesn't require an "specific time" because we'll be talking all the time, there are many things I want to do if you don't mind. I would love to visit the Opera House, sightsee, surf, dive, pet a koala, see kangaroos and emus... In addition, meeting your friends would be great (if you don't mind, of course).

I can't wait for January to arrive! It is kinda cool that I'll wear summer clothes in winter, but you're used to it, so I'm sorry if this sounds weird.

See you soon!
Paula

Hi Sarah!

How are you? I’m very happy we’ll see each other next month! Visiting Sydney is one of my dreams and doing it with you and your family is so exciting for me.

I’m very excited to improve my English level and return to Barcelona with a good pronunciation!
Although, I also want you to learn Spanish. During my weekend I’ve been searching for information about Sydney and I’ve found a lot of places where I want to go. Apart from the beaches and surf, I want to visit all the parks of the city! I’m in love with all the animals you have!

Furthermore, I want to know your family and spend time with them, your lifestyle, how is living in that city when you are 17…  Who knows, maybe Sydney is my future home!

Anyway, I’m so grateful for the opportunity that you are giving to me. I really appreciate it.

All my love,

Iraida

How’s your life going? How are things? I hope your doing well and I hope everyone in your family is doing fine. It was so good to hear from you and thanks for the invitation, I can’t wait to see you again like the last summer.

I’m writting you because I want to plan my stay so we can make the most of your time together. I still don't think we are going to see each other again, how lucky I was to go to the exchange last year and meet you ... Also, what kind of activities do you think we’ll be getting this summer up to? Although I think you don't like planning things much, but rather go on an adventure, would you rather we do that?

Did I tell you that I have an allergiy to sea food? I hate to be a nuisance but I hope that you remember if I didn’t told you. Apart from this, I really remain the same, I continue to be stressed with the course and I try to get ahead as best I can. At the moment I have approved everything, to see in the next quarter...
You have finished your final exams? I hope that yes, we need an another summer together going to parties, beaches, etc.

Give my regards to your family and  see you in Sydney.

Hi Dani,

What’s new? I haven’t written for so long, but I’ve just heard that you aren’t going to create a Facebook account because of the stupid idea of spending too much time on it.

I don’t think that’s the main problem of using Facebook, although I know a lot of users that used to get addicted to it in the past. Its adverts (you can use AdBlock but most people don’t do it), the way it works and how this website can use your private data without your permission are the worst part of the social media because they make it seedy, uncomfortable and pretty unsafe.

I’d recommend you to check out another social networks, such as Instagram, Twitter, Reddit and Snapchat which provide a more serious and reliable service.

Write soon!

All the best,

Paul Dirac

Hello Sarah!

First of all I would like to thank you and your family for giving me the chance of visiting Sydney. It is one of the top 3 countries I wanted to visit in one moment of my life and u made me able to it so I really appreciate it. Moreover, to enjoy my time during the travel, I would want to do a couple things that I’m going to explain now.

One of the activities I wanted to do always, is surfing, and I heard that the beaches are great full to practice on it. I did surf when I was 6 years old but I don’t remember almost nothing so it’s an experience I want to live again with my 17 years old.

Other activity I would want to do is go diving. I’ve always loved the water animals and also the water so I will take my water glasses to be able to do this activity.

Finally, I would like to visit some emblematic monuments of Sydney such as Sydney Harbour Bridge, the Taronga Zoo and also the Sydney Opera House.

In conclusion, I’m so grateful with your family and also I’m super excited about the trip.

Thanks for all and I’m waiting you talking me back.

See you soon.

Hi there Sarah,

How are you? I hope you're doing great. Also, I'm very excited for coming to your house in Australia. I could never thank you for giving me such experience, though. I'm really grateful and honored.

So, since I've known I'm going to Sydney, I've been thinking about what I will do there. For example, I've thought we can go to the Opera House or even to Harbour Bridge, I think you call it Coathanger, maybe? As you can see I've been investigating a bit about Sydney to avoid feeling left out in the city. Of course, you can lead me anywhere you find interesting for tourists, however I'd like you could show me a marvellous beach of Sydney. Indeed, as any tourist would like, I want to try typical food of Australia. A part from, seeing some wildlife such as Kangaroos. And we can forget about getting to now better, that's something I'm really looking forward to doing while I'm staying with you, and if you want me to know your friends, my staying will be fullfilled.

We will have such an amazing time together! I wish the days passed faster, I can wait to meet you and coming there. Meanwhile, I'll be catching more infirmation about Sydney to surprise you.

Hope to see you soon,

Hi Sarah,

How are you doing? First of all, I want to thank you and your family for inviting me to
Sydney. I’ve never been so far away from home so I’m very excited to come.

I’ve been thinking about all of the many things I will learn from this enriching
experience, although I don’t really know much about Australia apart from the typical
stereotypes. I would like to visit a wildlife nature reserve to familiarize with all the
emblematic Australian animals in general. Apart from that, I’m really looking forward
to trying all of the traditional Australian foods. And, of course, I want to spend a lot of
time with you to get to know you better.

I really believe we’re going to have a blast! In the meantime, I’m just going to read
some books about your country and count the days until my departure.

 Hope to see you soon,

Eric

INFORMAL E-MAIL

Dear Sarah!

I’m really grateful that you and your family invited me to your place in Sydney. I’ve been expecting to go for a while now but I didn’t have the money to afford a hotel there so if it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t be able to go. Anyway, there are so many places that I want to visit once I’m there.

First of all I want to go to some of your beaches. I’m especially interested on the northern beaches because they have the best waves and I’m really keen on learning how to surf, so if you could teach me it would be incredibly delightful.

Besides I’ve heard that there are really cheap adventure experiences such as skydiving in Wollongong or trying rappel on the Blue Mountains.

However, not everything I want to do it’s related to risky sports. I’m really interested on visiting the local boutiques of Glenmore Road and buying some clothes. Meanwhile I hope to improve my English.

In conclusion, I’m really excited to go and I’m sure we’ll have an amazing time with each other.

I hope to see you soon.

Kind regards.

Sara.
