Black Friday in November has quickly become the biggest shopping day in
many countries and not just in the United States, where it originated. Is it a
good idea for shop owners to offer large discounts before the Christmas
holidays? Do you think it is necessary to have such a day, or is it only a new
form of consumerism?

Nowadays, Black Friday
has become an important day for society; many people go shopping on the last Friday
of November taking advantage of the great discounts. Most people agree with
this date, but the real question is “Is
it a good idea for shop owners to offer large discounts before the Christmas
holidays? Is it necessary to have such a day, or is it only a new form of consumerism?
Personally, I
think it is important to have a date on which discounts are made, and more if
it is just before Christmas, where people start buying the Christmas presents.
Furthermore, in
my opinion some shops raise prices before reaching Black Friday so it looks
like there is a discount later, so this is a way to raise the consumerism. I am
not saying all the stores do this, but we have to look carefully at prices and
look for good deals.
In conclusion,
Black Friday is a good way to buy our Christmas gifts cheaper than usual, but I
believe it is not necessary to do all the publicity that we do for this day
like it was an special day in our life, because this publicity only increases
the consumerism.
